Curriculum Overview 2018-19

Curriculum 

The curriculum of Harris Academy Aspire comprises a broad and innovative range of learning experiences planned for each student.  A personalised curriculum offer, in conjunction with excellent teaching that impacts positively on learning and progress will enable all our students to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Curriculum Organisation

Harris Academy Aspire has students in KS3, Year 10 and Year 11.

KS3 Pathway (1 year pathway)

Students in KS3 take a full EBacc provision to enable transition back to a mainstream environment:

There are 25 timetabled lessons in a week each of 60 minutes. They receive three lessons a week in “Skills for Work and Life” developing the soft skills and additional Literacy and Numeracy to support student learning. SWL revolves around these key skills:

Students may take advantage of an EBACC based curriculum for one year with options in Art, Humanities or MFL.

There are 25 timetabled lessons in a week each of 60 minutes with an additional 45 min lesson scheduled at the end of the day for 3 days in the week Monday to Wednesday. They will also receive a lesson a week in “Skills for Work and Life” which will revolve around these key skills.
