Welcome to Harris Aspire

Supporting Parents and Carers at Harris Academy Aspire

ParentsWe understand that joining an Alternative Education Academy can feel like a fresh start for both young people and their families—especially where a child has become disengaged from education. At Harris Academy Aspire, we work in partnership with parents and carers to rebuild trust, re‑establish routines, and support positive progress in learning, attendance and well‑being.

A named key contact: You will have a consistent member of staff who knows your child well and can coordinate support, answer questions, and agree next steps with you.

Welcome, induction and first review: At the start, we will meet with you to understand what has and has not worked previously, agree priorities, and explain how Aspire will support your child day to day.

A co‑produced support plan: We will develop a personalised plan with you (and other professionals where appropriate) that sets out strategies, reasonable adjustments, and targets for engagement, learning and behaviour—reviewed regularly.

Flexible, timely communication: We can communicate in the way that works best for you (phone, text, email, or meetings). We will share key information early, including any concerns, successes and practical arrangements.

Regular progress updates and joined‑up support: You will receive clear feedback on attendance, engagement and learning. With your consent, we will also work with partner agencies (e.g., SEN, Early Help, social care, health, youth services) to ensure consistent support around your child.

Parent/carer guidance and resources: We can share strategies to support routines at home, boundaries around screen time/sleep, and ways to encourage attendance and positive engagement. If you would like signposting to local support services, please ask your key contact.

What we need from you: Please keep us updated about any changes at home that may affect your child, support morning routines and punctuality as far as possible, and contact us early if you have worries—so we can respond before issues escalate.
