At Harris Aspire, we want every student to use their time with us to re‑engage with their education, rebuild confidence, and rediscover a sense of purpose. Our aim is to create an environment where students feel supported, understood, and empowered to take ownership of their future.
Our careers programme is designed to help students believe in their ability to succeed and to give them the tools, knowledge, and experiences to make that success possible. Through a carefully planned sequence of activities, students gain a clearer awareness of the opportunities available to them. They are encouraged to explore their options, discover new possibilities, and prepare for meaningful next steps, whether that means re‑entering mainstream education, progressing to further study, or beginning training for a career of their choice.
The overarching aim is to support each student in becoming a young person with a clear vision for their own success. With the right guidance, encouragement, and practical support, we help them grow into individuals who can set goals, make informed decisions, and confidently move forward into the next stage of their lives.
Careers Road Map

Careers Education Programme
A range of events, integrated throughout the Academy’s careers programme, provide opportunities for external providers to visit the Academy and engage directly with pupils and their parents or carers. Each academic year, our programme continues to evolve in response to staff expertise, student needs, and emerging opportunities. Despite these changes, our core offer and our commitment to the Harris Aspire & HPS6F CEIAG entitlement framework remains consistent and central to our work.
For all enquiries relating to our careers education programme, or to understand how we meet the elements of our entitlement framework, please contact our careers lead.

Careers Advisers
Careers Advisers are appointed by the Harris Federation to work with students on career planning. They are fully qualified advisers and are able to provide bespoke careers advice and guidance as well as supporting the planning of the careers programme for all year groups in the school.
The Careers advisor is available in the school for one day a week, usually Tuesdays. During this time she will see as many students as possible, sometimes this is 1:1 meetings, sometimes group interviews or presentations. If you want to get in touch with her then please either email her directly at caroline.jackson@harrisfederation.org.uk or call the school and ask to book an appointment.
